Welcome to our blog!

This is our new site where we will write about all of the things happening with the church of Christ here in Toluca, Mexico and with our family.

November was a busy month.

We made a trip to the US to recruit an AIM team from Sunset International Bible Institute. It is amazing to think that Kim came down to Toluca as part of an AIM team in 1992 and now, 13 1/2 years later, she is still here. I wonder what God has in store for the AIM team He is preparing for Toluca now. We are confident that He is raising up the right team for Toluca and we are excited that this next week we should hear just who they are.

We also hosted men and women from 13 different congregations for a conference about the Bible Institute (ILEB) and its extension school. The people who came are already teaching ILEB courses to people in their congregation and we hope that the numbers will continue to grow. Courses are currently being taught in many different cities in Mexico and the women's department (FEBE) currently has students in Chihuahua, Queretaro and Mexico City (along with 12 students in Toluca.)

November 20th was a Mexican holiday commemorating the revolution of 1910 when the dictator Porfirio Diaz was overthrown. In school, the kids participated in a festival with song and dance.

The boys are also enjoying playing on a soccer team. The team is affiliated with the professional team from Pachuca and bears the same uniform and name. This Saturday the team will play to see if we finish in third or fourth place in the tournament.

Today was a glorious day for the
church of Christ in Toluca. Raul,
Victor and Roberto Rubio have been studying with a family for several months now and we all rejoiced as mom - Mari, and children Zaira, Edgar and Eric obeyed the gospel and were baptized into Christ. One of the young men in the youth group, Memo Camacho, was also baptized!

Erasmo Valencia, a graduate from the Bible Institute (ILEB) here in Toluca preached his first sermon to the Toluca congregation and afterward we celebrated a luncheon dedicated to the new Christians of this year. We were so proud to have almost all of the 53 new Christians along with many of their families and many other brethren from the church. It was a joyful and encouraging event.
